Louise
has exhibited widely in group exhibitions including the Summer Exhibition at
the Royal Academy of Arts, the Society of Wood Engravers Annual Exhibition and
the London Original Print Fair. Her work is held at the Ashmolean
Museum, Oxford, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and in many private
collections. Earlier this year, Louise and
her work appeared briefly in the BBC4 programme ‘Bunkers, Brutalism and
Bloodymindedness: Concrete Poetry with Jonathan Meades’.
"My
work features types of post-war housing which are very much part of the texture
of inner London, where I have always lived. I am interested in the
individuality of these buildings in terms of their design, structure and
sculptural qualities. This kind of architecture has become negatively
associated with the welfare state and social decay while the buildings
themselves often have a powerful, enigmatic presence in the city. They also
have a strong connection to my memories of growing up in London in the1960s and
70s."
