Lambeth Open comes to SBP!

This weekend artists and crafters across the borough of Lambeth open their doors to the public who can view their work in situ.  Southbank Printmakers are on the map! Mary Cossey, Richard Peacock and Maureen Sweeney will be there to welcome you on Saturday and Sunday.

We are currently featuring the work of Eileen St Julian-Bown.  Eileen produces beautiful screenprints based on her travels and also reminiscent of her many hours commuting on the London Underground!

This is one of my favourite London underground images 'Green Park'.......and another......

This is 'Clapham Junction'

We are very happy to be part of the Lambeth Open weekend and hope you will be too!

We are open Mon to Fri and Sunday: 11.30 to 6.30pm and Saturdays 10.00 to 8.00pm

London Design Festival comes to Gabriel's Wharf

This is an exciting time for our gallery!

The Southbank Printmakers' participation in the London Design Festival will be marked by our Louise Hayward who will be demonstrating how she achieves her archetypal images.  Louise is a member of the Society of Wood Engravers (SWE) and a fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE).  Her work is held at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and in many private collections.

She uses engraving and lino-cutting tools on relief surfaces including plastic plates, wood and lino.

Look at what she achieves!

The detail is incredible  and very satisfying.

I don't want to distract you from our gallery but to be fair I will share that Gabriel's Wharf will be buzzing this weekend.  However I will also share that we are open (Mon to Fri and Sunday: 11.30 to 6.30pm) but on

you can come in anytime between 10am to 8pm and we hope you will come by and browse our great selection of handmade prints from 40 printmakers and admire Louise's considerable prowess.
