We welcome you to these two delightful exhibitions housed under the same roof - namely the Morley Gallery - an excellent venue indeed. Here you can see the work of some of our most celebrated printmakers - Yoonjung Shim is showing two exciting images - her 'Crossword' and an evocative picture of the Tate Modern. Peg Morris treats us to a glimpse of her 'Salt Marsh'. Sue Ribbans brings out the evil 'Circe'. Anyone who has done the four day stopover in Iceland will welcome another sight of Liz Whiteman-Smith's 'Geysir'. Jennie Ing is showing her 'Barbican Towers' - simply described as a linocut, but I know my efforts do not yield this result! Julie Sullock treats us to one of her liquid screenprints - 'Feather'. Richard Peacock has interpreted what some might see as the grimness of concrete as a myriad of colour. cleverly named 'Concrete Poem' and last, but most definitely not least, comes Theresa Pateman's 'Neon Swimmer' - a depiction of glorious movement and colour incorporating the random and difficult technique of spitbite.
Since publishing this, Melanie Bellis has sent me two exciting images. Her 'Oxo Tower' is part of the Mini Print exhibition and 'Two Cranes' is to be included in Print City.
A treat for all! We hope you will join us at the Private View - or just drop in when you can.
