The Song of Solomon by Jane Lydbury


Southbank Printmaker's Jane Lydbury was commissioned to produce illustrations for The Song of Solomon

This month sees its publication, the full title being A Play (or Opera) founded on The Song of Solomon by Forrest Reid. 

It is published at the Reading Room Press by Miles Wigfield, who set and printed the type and the engraving blocks.  It contains six engravings by Jane which can be seen below.  The external binding features an engraving of the 1930s by Olive Openshaw.

100 copies casebound, 8” x 12”, 24 pages, are for sale  at £80 plus p&p.

Jane Lydbury and Jane Daniell at the Blackheath Concert Halls

From 6th May for one month Jane Lydbury and Jane Daniell will be exhibiting at Blackheath Concert Hall.  The exhibition is planned to highlight the Hall's season of myths and fairies - a series of magical events.

The exhibition will consist of Jane L's amazingly meticulous wood engravings and Jane D's fantastical etchings (with a few little paintings thrown in for good measure)


As you can see from the above leaflet, the Private View is on Thursday 7th and we would love you to come along and share some wine with us.  It is a great venue, and there is a jazz concert on that night, so why not make an evening of it?
