Southbank Printmakers welcomes Hil Scott

Hil has recently joined the Gallery and brings with her a unique take on life in London in the form of  mono prints, collages and solar etchings.  She is also experimenting with combining digital images with traditionally created images - so watch this space!
Hil first ventured in to printmaking in 1965 when she took a two year Foundation course in Printing and Painting at the City and Guilds School of Art in Kennington.

She was awarded a Diploma in Fine Art Graphics in 1976 and whilst preparing for the diploma oversaw and designed floats for the Lord Mayor's Show.

Hil's current work explores the changing face of London - the demolition of buildings and the rebuilding of new, the movement of people through the city and the oddities of detail and reflection and strange corners that occur in a large city.

A favourite subject is the London Eye.  You can see more on her website

Her prints can be seen at the Gallery at Unit12, Gabriel's Wharf, 56 Upper Ground, London SE1 9PP where they are so much bigger and better than these samples !
