Come and See us at the RHS Spring Show

The RHS Spring Show kicks off on 16th February at RHS Lawrence Hall and the Lindley Hall London.  We will be there as usual, not only potato printing but offering a wide choice of prints and cards on a nature theme.

Last year Theresa Pateman and Julie Sullock headed up the potato workshop and it was so much fun!  Visitors worked away and produced some amazing designs......

.........and we hope that this year our some of our young printmakers will return, not to mention the whole host of newcomers we can't wait to initiate into the joys of potato printing.

Libby Carreck, Lucy Green, Peg Morris,Theresa Pateman, Jenny Ronay, Julie Sullock and Liz Whiteman-Smith have produced an array of beautiful images to remind you that Spring is definitely on the way, and all we need now is YOU.

You can punctuate your day with a barista coffee, a bowl of butternut squash and coriander soup, or a sandwich and there is much to see and do, the only downside being that it ends on 17th almost as soon as it starts so there is only a small window to sample these many delights!

Following a weekend at the RHS Spring Show where a few guys from Southbank Printmakers pitched up to provide an environment consisting of potatoes, ink and paper these pics have emerged and I thought I would share them.

A fun time was had by all!  Sales of cards and prints were remarkably good and here are some of the guys getting stuck in!

 This is Theresa who spends a large part of her life, when she isn't producing magnificent artwork, clearing up ink and paint as pictured.

 This is Mary who discovered her inner child in the humble potato.

 This lovely lady tapped her creative potential and discovered that something as delicate as a butterfly could be magicked in to existence with a few colours and a root vegetable.

This was a communal project.....everyone had a go!

Southbank Printmakers is a gallery on the Southbank - Gabriel's Wharf to be precise.  Choc full of a wonderful selection of Limited Edition hand printed images, we are open everyday and would love to see you there.  So if you first made our acquaintance at the RHS please do visit our gallery so we can show what we can do when not making potato prints.

......or rather, don't pass the potatoes!  Stop right by them! because on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st, Southbank Printmaker's Julie Sullock,Louise Hayward, Kethi Copeland and Theresa Pateman are offering you the opportunity to revisit your childhood and enjoy potato printing at the Royal Horticultural Society's Spring Show.  The gang can be found in Lindley Hall, Vincent Square near to Victoria Station.

It is amazing what the plain old baking potato can produce....Repetitive patterns which are great for making your own wrapping paper...

There will also be an opportunity to buy paintings and prints celebrating scenery and greenery.  Julie's 'Richmond Tree' (below) is one amongst many inspirational treats for your delight.
